Partner with Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµ to Build Meaningful Opportunities for Students—and Your Organization
The Center for Community Engagement & Social Change (CCE) partners with local nonprofits, schools, and public agencies to provide enriching, career-building experiences for Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµ students—while supporting the missions of organizations like yours. Through community work-study and internship opportunities, you can bring energetic, curious, and mission-driven students onto your team while receiving support in a variety of ways.
Community Work-Study Program
Build your capacity while investing in the next generation of change-makers.
Through the federal work-study (FWS) program, eligible Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµ students can be employed at your organization in part-time roles that support your services and initiatives—with up to 50% of their wages paid by Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµ.
These positions are designed to enhance the well-being of local residents while giving students hands-on experience in nonprofit and community-based work. A wide range of roles may qualify, including those in:
- Health care & public health
- Education & tutoring
- Child care & youth mentorship
- Literacy & language services
- Housing access & neighborhood improvement
- Social services & welfare support
- Disability services
- Transportation equity
- Emergency response & preparedness
- Environmental & rural development
- Recreation & community enrichment
- Public safety, crime prevention, & restorative justice
- Support for first-generation, low-income, or underrepresented populations

Submission Timeline
We review community work-study proposals during two open submission periods:
- Round 1: July 15 – September 1
- Round 2: November 15 – December 15

Each summer, we partner with local nonprofits to place students in internships focused on justice, sustainability, and equity. Participating host sites gain highly motivated interns and join a broader community of practice.
