Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ welcomes transfer applications to our college of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Conservatory of Music. You are considered a transfer student if you have attempted 12 or more college credits after graduating high school or if you have an associate of science or arts degree.

How to Apply

We accept the Common Application or the Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ Application with no preference for one over the other. Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ does not charge an application fee.

Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ offers scholarships of up to $32,000 especially for transfer students.

Dates and Deadlines

At Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ students study on a trimester calendar. Due to this, transfer students are encouraged to apply for admission for Fall Term (September start) and Winter Term (January start). If you are interested in transferring in the Spring Term (March start), please contact your transfer admissions counselor.

U.S. Transfer Students

Fall Term Application Deadline (September start):ÌýJuly 31. Notification is on a rolling basis.
Winter Term Application Deadline (January start):ÌýNovember 1. Notification: November 15. Complete your Financial Aid application by November 8; accept your admission offer by December 1.

International Transfer Students

Application Requirements

In addition to your online application, all transfer applicants must submit:

  • official final high school transcript;
  • ´Ç´Ú´Ú¾±³¦¾±²¹±ôÌýcollege transcripts from each college you attended, including any dual-credit courses taken in high school;
  • recommendation letter, preferably from a college instructor. (optional)

ACT or SAT Test scoresÌýare not requiredÌýfor admission or scholarshipÌýconsiderationÌýfor domestic applicants.Ìý

Requirements for admission to the Conservatory of Music

If you are a student interested in transferring to the Conservatory of Music at Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ or Double Degree program, in addition, we require the following materials. Applications are most competitive if application documents are submitted before the audition.

Additional Requirements for International Transfer Students

International transfer applicants are required to submit these additional items. StudentsÌýapplying to the Conservatory must also complete the items listed in the Conservatory of Music above.Ìý

Foreign College Credit Evaluation

Students transferring from, or who attended, a university outside of the United States must include an official reviewed college transcript for each school from outside the United States. These evaluations may be completed byÌý (ECE) orÌý (WES).

English Language Proficiency Test Scores

An official TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, SAT, or ACT report is required for all international students whose native language is not English, or whose previous instruction was not primarily in English. Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ's code for the SAT and TOEFL is 1398. For the ACT, it is 4596.

If your first language is English or you have received instruction primarily taught in English, you may request to waive the proficiency requirement through a letter from your counselor or other school official or with a submitted school profile.

Proficiency may be demonstrated by any one of the following:

  • TOEFL Internet Based: 80 out of 120
  • TOEFL Computer Based: 217 out of 300
  • TOEFL Paper Based: 553 out of 677
  • IELTS 6.5 out of 9 overall band score
  • Duolingo minimum score of 115
  • SAT 580 on Evidence-Based Reading and Writing
  • ACT 24 out of 36 on English/Writing

A scanned copy of the personal information page of your passport must be uploaded directly to yourÌýÌýor e-mailed toÌýadmissions@lawrence.edu.

Interview

All applicants are strongly encouraged toÌý.

Certification of Finance Form

Available via yourÌý, after you submit your application for admission. No other forms (i.e. CSS Profile, etc) will be accepted in it's place.

Supporting financial documentation is requiredÌýas part of the Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ Certification of Finance form which may include any combination of the following:

  • An current official bank statement
  • A letter or other documentation from an employer verifying parent income
  • A letter and bank statement from a private sponsor
  • Letter of financial support from sponsor program
