Parking at Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ is strictly enforced. Violations of parking policies can result in tickets or vehicle towing.

Parking Regulations

Please adhere to the following parking regulations. Failure to do so may result in tickets, vehicle towing, and/or other penalties.

  • No parking is permitted in fire lanes, driveways, drop-off zones, sidewalks, lawns or parking areas designated for guests.
  • Members of the community utilizing areas for loading equipment into or out of buildings should so indicate by use of flashers and should not leave vehicles unattended for more than five minutes.
  • Only bicycles, mopeds with motors disengaged, emergency, maintenance and service vehicles may be operated off normal streets and drives.
  • Operating a motor vehicle or parking on lawns, sidewalks or other areas "off road" constitutes a violation of university policy.

Parking Violations

Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ issues tickets or will tow vehicles for the following violations. Appleton police may also ticket and/or tow vehicles parked in fire lanes.

Tickets

Tickets will be issued for any violation of university parking policy, including:

  • failure to register your vehicle
  • parking in fire lanes
  • parking on the lawn or sidewalk
  • parking in a handicapped, reserved space, restricted zone, or in an unauthorized area

Towing

Your vehicle will be towed immediately if it is illegally parked in:

  • fire lanes,
  • emergency areas
  • sidewalks and lawns
  • residence hall director's space
  • tenant parking

Penalties and Appeals

A student, faculty, or staff member may receive one ticket during the academic year without penalty. However, the vehicle may be police ticketed upon the second and all subsequent tickets. In addition, it may be towed at your expense upon receipt of the third ticket and any ticket thereafter.

Parking violations may be appealed in writing to the University Parking Committee (in care of the Office of Campus Safety). The committee, named by the president, is comprised of members of the faculty, staff, and student body, and is chaired by the director of Facilities Operations or their representative.

Student Parking Violations

Only students whose cars are registered at the time the ticket is issued may appeal a parking violation. Two or more violations in any given term will disqualify a student from entering the parking lottery for the remainder of the subsequent term on campus, including the next academic year.

Excessive parking violations, however, as determined by the University Parking Committee, shall be considered a violation of the Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ Code of Student Responsibility (see the Student Handbook).

The University Parking Committee reserves the right to bring such violations before the Judicial Board, and the appointed student member of the University Parking Committee will be responsible for submitting a list of ineligible students on the morning of the parking lottery.
