Lawrentians can be found sharing their love of education in classrooms in Wisconsin and beyond at all levels, as well as in non-classroom settings like social work that benefit from a teacher’s influence.

Teacher certification prepares students to teach in elementary and secondary schools throughout the country (and in other parts of the world). The education studies minor broadens understanding of the purpose, history, and philosophy of education. This understanding is a helpful foundation for careers and advanced study in education administration, community development, counseling, and more.

Lawrentians can go on to pursue careers in K-12 public and charter schools, college and universities, school counseling, educational outreach (library, arts or environmental organizations), and community development or social work. They can also complete their teaching certification and earn advanced degrees in education (policy, law, or administration), counseling, educational outreach, social work, and community development.
