Mike grew up in the suburbs of Milwaukee, WI. He received a BS in Chemistry from Rice University in 2005. While there, he conducted research under the guidance of Prof. Victor Behar on the synthesis of chiral spiroketal containing molecules such as γ-rubromycin.

Dr. Saz is a Wisconsin native, born and raised in Chippewa Falls, about 180 miles west of Appleton, WI. He has enjoyed playing with all the phases of matter since he was small, and went on to pursue that interest in college at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
