Several prestigious honor societies have a chapter at Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ. Students who are elected wear honor cords at graduation and are recognized as members in the Commencement program.  


Phi Beta Kappa

The nation's oldest and most prestigious honor society,  recognizes achievement in the liberal arts and sciences. To be elected, Bachelor of Arts graduates must demonstrate academic excellence and breadth of study that includes courses in at least three divisions, in math/logic, and in language.


Pi Kappa Lambda

Pi Kappa Lambda recognizes and encourages exceptional musical and scholastic ability. It is the highest honor for Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Musical Arts graduates.


Mortar Board

Mortar Board is a national honor society that recognizes the achievements of fourth-year students. Members are elected at the end of their third year on the basis of outstanding leadership, scholarship, and service to the academic community.


Departmental Honors Societies

Departments at Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ also have their own honor societies, awards, and prizes. Recipients are celebrated at the annual Honors Convocation.Â
