Bill Hixon is the Gordon R. Clapp Professor of American Studies, Associate Professor of Government, and a member of the Environmental Studies faculty at Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ.  His teaching areas include American politics, the presidency, Congress, and environmental policy as well as game theory and research methods.  He earned a B.A. and M.A. in political science from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Ph.D. from the University of Rochester.  His research includes work on ideology and leadership in the U.S. Congress, presidential leadership, and food politics.  In 2017 he served as Visiting Professor at the Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ London Centre.  In 2018-19 he directed the Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ’s NEH Humanities Institute, on the topic of cities.
