I teach courses in Restoration and eighteenth-century British literature. When I'm not geeking out on all things eighteenth-century, I love to cook--and I've been known to watch marathons of true-crime TV until I'm too terrified to fall asleep.
I've published articles on Samuel Johnson, James Boswell, Hester Thrale, Elizabeth Carter, and Laurence Sterne, and am the co-editor, with Jack Lynch, of the Oxford World's Classics edition of Johnson and Boswell's accounts of their 1773 trip to the Scottish Hebrides.Â
I'm currently at work, again with Jack, on a Broadview edition of Daniel Defoe's Journal of the Plague YearÌý(1722).
